Crankshaft

OCS are probably best know for crankshaft grinding ranging from lawnmower engines right up to steam engines and the largest marine crankshafts and anything in between for commercial and non commercial use. We also offer an ultra performance, motorsport quality machining for crankshafts, this quality is applied to all the work undertaken at OCS. Crankshafts are polished after grinding in order to achieve the exact specifications and surface finish.

• Crankshaft grinding
  We can remanufacture main and big ends to take undersize bearings
• Crankshaft polishing
  All crankshafts are polished after grinding to ensure the finish is to the highest standard and any imperfections removed.
• Crankshaft crack testing
  We crack test all crankshafts before grinding to identify any damage to determine repair or replacement.

• Crankshaft straightening
  We can also straighten crankshafts to remove any distortion after an engine failure or internal damage.
• Crankshaft balancing
  We offer a full engine balance service and can provide a before and after print out to demonstrate the improvement.

• Diamond Refacing
  We regrind the flywheel to remove and distortion or surface damage from the face using a diamond headed cutter.
